Cauldwell Children

National Service

Service Description

Service Description:

Caudwell Children provide family support services, equipment, treatment and therapies for disabled children and their families across the UK. We also run our Enable Sport programme for talented disabled athletes and our Destination Dreams holiday for children fighting life threatening conditions.

What makes us special?
•We don't believe in waiting lists for children
•We treat families and their children as individuals
•We're a national charity with a local heart
•Our management and running costs are covered by a kind benefactor so that donations go directly to help disabled children in need

We are a national charity that supports families with children with health conditions and disabilities.

We have a free family support service running across the county that professionals can refer families to.

We are not a commissioned service so the referral pathway is directly to us and does not need to go via early help teams.

Our service has now been running in Kent for nearly 3 years and we are as busy as ever. However, we don’t believe in waiting lists and will aim to make contact with families within 48 hours of receiving the referral.

There are many ways we can support families. We can provide funding for therapies under our Autism and Cerebral Palsy/Brain Injury programmes. We can contribute up to 80% for funding of specialist items such as power chairs, buggies, trikes and car seats. We also provide 1-1 support which can be an individualised support plan over a period of time. This can be in the form of supporting at meetings, helping with form filling or maybe just signposting to other services. We can also be there to provide emotional support.

We don’t wish to come in and step on anyone’s toes but want to work alongside teams as part of a holistic and person centred approach to early help and support. We are also looking to implement our Hospital support service.

If you wish to know more, please do not hesitate to contact us. You may also wish to have a look at our website which gives more detailed information about our core services.
