Ambitious About Autism

National Service

Service Description

Service Description:
Ambitious about Autism is dedicated to developing more and better education services that meet the needs of children and young people with autism effectively. The charity develops and runs its own highly specialist schools and colleges that seek to model new models of best practice. We also work with other schools, colleges and partners and individual professional and parents to share knowledge and skills to improve outcomes for children and young people nationally. This is how we maximise reach and impact with our limited resources.

TreeHouse School is the first special school set up by Ambitious about Autism in 1997. Based in the heart of a thriving community in North London, it educates pupils with autism aged 3 to 19 from across London and the Home Counties.

Ambitious College is London’s first specialist day college set up by Ambitious about Autism in September 2014. It is dedicated to providing further education and training to young people with complex autism aged 16-25 form across London and the Home Counties.

Ambitious College has two campuses based in the heart of mainstream college campuses in thriving local communities; the Pears North London campus in Tottenham (based with the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London) AND the Pears West London in Isleworth (based with West Thames College).

Being located on mainstream campuses in the heart of thriving local communities is key to the college’s successful model. It enables young people to access learning, social, employment and leisure opportunities alongside their mainstream peers, whilst receiving the specialist support they need.
