| Service Description: | Welcome to Rochester Riverside Childcare! My name is Deandra and I am a mother of 2 young children. I qualified as a teacher in 2015 and taught in schools in the UK and Dubai for 5 years before moving into a role in school improvement, training teachers and providing them with support and resources to get the best out of their students.
I have 12+ years experience in a childcare setting, working alongside my mother to set up an 'Outstanding' childcare setting in Dartford. I decided to start my own service in Rochester as I believe that my experience and location will greatly serve parents in the Rochester/Strood area who need to commute for work.
I provide high quality childcare services in a beautiful home environment, just 3 minutes walk from Rochester station. My home is bright and spacious, allowing children to have plenty of room to learn and explore. I have a designated play room equipped with resources that meet the requirements of the seven areas of development and my curriculum encourages children to engage in self-directed play, as well as teacher-led activities. I also have a spacious garden and live within close proximity to local parks, river walks, Rochester castle and the local library. I also live within walking distance from Rochester Riverside School and can do school drop off/pick up here.
I believe health and wellness are important areas for us all to understand and take ownership of. I share my love for exercise, breathing techniques and fresh ingredients with the children and teach them how to care for their wellbeing. I also believe that as parents it’s really important to take care of our mental and physical health so I run a monthly dance class in Kent for ‘Mama’s and Friends’ and have set up a WhatsApp group for mothers in the Kent area which has amassed over 60 members.
