Breastfeeding rates in Medway are below the national average. Some mums and babies take to breastfeeding easily, but sometimes it can be difficult at the beginning, sometimes it can be painful and it can take a little bit of time to get used to. Some people also feel awkward about feeding out and about, and over 2/3rds of mums in Medway stop breastfeeding before their baby is 6 weeks old. This means lots of mums and babies are missing out on the amazing benefits of breastfeeding.
