Homestart helps to increase the confidence and independence of families by:
- Visiting families in their own homes to offer support, friendship and practical assistance
- Reassuring parents that their childcare problems are not unusual or uniquel
- Encouraging parents' strengths and emotional well-being for the ultimate benefit of their children
- Trying to get the fun back into family life.

Home-Start is a local charity that have a community network of trained volunteers who prove support to families with young children through their challenging times. We are there for parents when they need us the most because childhood can’t wait.

Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heart breaking and over-whelming. Life-changing events can happen to anyone. That is why Home-Start is ready to support families through their toughest times. Home-Start Medway volunteers are trained to work alongside families to overcome the challenges they are facing. We work with parents to build on their strengths and give them the support that they tell us they need.

Home-Start works with families across Medway, starting in the home, our approach is as individual as the people we’re helping. No judgement, it is just compassionate, confidential help and expert support.
