Qualifications required/desired:

Required:

  • Early Years Qualification at Level 3 or above
  • 5+ years of experience working in an early years setting
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead, support and motivate a small team
  • A warm, professional, child-centred approach

Desired:

  • Safeguarding/Child Protection training
  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Vacancy details:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Preschool Practitioner to join our small, friendly team.  This is a key position that includes acting as Manager during the current Manager’s maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a central role in delivering high quality early years education and care, supporting colleagues, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for all children.

  • Act as manager during maternity leave, overseeing day to day operations
  • Support and guide colleagues to maintain high standard of practice
  • Contribute to planning, organisation and continuous improvement in the setting
  • Ensure the wellbeing, safety and emotional security of all children
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding, child protection and health and safety policies
  • Carry out administrative and management duties as required

  • Act as a keyworker for a small number of children building strong and trusted relationships
  • Deliver high quality, developmentally appropriate childcare in line with EYFS
  • Work closely with parents and carers to meet individual children’s needs
  • Monitor, record and maintain children’s progress and development using Tapestry
  • Create and maintain a safe, caring and stimulating environment
