Service Description:
Shelter provides free, impartial advice and advocacy on homelessness, rent and mortgage arrears, repossessions, housing benefit, Landlord and tenant disputes, harassment, illegal eviction, disrepair, other housing problems, Debt (including Debt Relief Orders and Bankruptcy) and Welfare Benefits.

Advice in Person: you can attend in person at the Advice Centre, Chatham. Please telephone for an appointment or drop in for details of our services.

Phone advice: 0344 515 1740 - Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. Outside these hours please leave a message on the answering machine, or if your problem is an emergency telephone Shelter's free, national housing helpline on 0808 800 444 which is open between 8am and 8pm. We use the Language Line translation service, which enables people whose first language is not English to speak to our housing advisers.
