Service Description:
Avenues started life in Kent and so it’s in the South East where much of our experience and expertise originated – working with people who were moving out of long stay hospitals whose behaviour had been considered too challenging for community services. We have a base near Tonbridge and our range of services includes residential care, supported living and outreach for all age groups.

Our work with the Tizard Centre at the University of Kent to develop our expertise in Positive Behaviour Support and Person Centred Active Support started in our Kent services. It continues today across the organisation, including in Surrey where we are part of the Surrey Positive Behaviour Support Network.

In November 2016, Welmede merged with Avenues. Welmede also has services across Surrey. Visit the Welmede website to find out more.
